Kaycee is such a sweetheart. This morning I had to wake her up early to go do the three hour glucose test at the hospital (it should be called the four hour test). She was a little grumpy because I woke her up early (8:30AM) so she just wanted to lay in bed and watch cartoons until she was fully awake. I told her that we needed to get ready so mom could go to the doctors and she jumped up and said, "oh, mommy sick and needs to go to doctors?" I told her that I needed to do this blood test and she jumped up, said, "okay," and got ready.
I was really worried because we had to stay at the lab for the first hour and I knew she was going to go stir crazy, but she did really well. She knew that we had to be there for mommy and she was very well behaved. She HAD to sit next to me each time they drew blood to make sure I was okay. The first draw was at 9AM, and because I was fasting and had to drink the glucose drink I had to be monitored for the first hour in the office. Then after that first initial test at 9AM I had to go back at 10AM, 11AM, and then the final one was at 12PM. After the first test I took her to McDonald's to get her something to eat and to let her play for a few minutes. Each time I worried that she would get irate that we had to go back, but she hurried to the car and asked if I had to go back to the doctors for my blood. Each time she would ask me if I had to drink the yucky "oonage" drink again. She was very concerned for me. She would also ask if the "shot" hurt. What a sweetheart. I was so proud of her. She was so good.
That wasn't the end of it. Isaac had to go get a shot at the hospital for vet school and then I had an OB appointment at 4pm. What a little trooper. She was so excited to walk me into my appointment. I think she was excited to be able to take care of mom for once, and also that the doctors and blood tests were not for her!!!
These are pictures I took on my phone of her in the car. We went shopping in between and I bought her a Wonder Pet's painting book so we painted in between the last blood test.
