Poor little Kaycee. She has been going through this stage where she has to have mom and dad all of the time. Last night I talked to her and said how mom and dad were going out for a little while and she was going to play at Megan's house. She was sad but I finally got her to settle down. Well, as we dropped her off she was a little hesitant but excited too, until I took the time to give Megan Isaac's cell phone number. It hit her that we were not staying with her and she broke down. We assured her that we would be back before her Chipmunk movie was over and led her inside.
We went to the Scholarship and Awards Program and got back exactly when her movie was over. Pretty good timing. We ended up having to leave early though because we thought it would only be about an hour to an hour and a half. We didn't realize that there were like 179 awards. We had to leave on number 100. It was a nice little date for Isaac and me. We haven't been on a date for a long time. It was nice.
When we got back she was dressed in a whole new outfit. She had an accident. This totally shocked me because she has done so well for a long time. I think she was overly tired and very sad. I guess she cried on and off. She was sitting on her feet on the couch and maybe her feet fell asleep and she didn't realize she had to go, I don't know. All I know is that she was upset that she had the accident but very excited that she got to wear Bella's pajamas and panties. That is all she talked about. It made everything better that she got to wear her friends PJ's. I don't know about this crying and whining. I guess it is just another stage, but it feels like we just got over this clingy, whinny stage. All I can do is be patient and loving. I feel bad because she wants me to carry her everywhere too and I can't. I can't wait for this stage to pass but I hope she stays my little sweet girl who needs me, but is not needy, if that makes sense.
Oh, I made the assumption that she was overly tired because she woke up very early today, ran around all day without a nap and kept walking into walls. She went in to go use the potty before getting into bed and ran right into the frame. It split her forehead open and put a huge welt on the side of her face. It doesn't look as bad in the picture but she hit pretty hard. She is posing in Bella's PJs by the door frame that she ran into.

Kaycee's First Big Girl Party
Jeniel called and invited Kaycee to Morgan's birthday party this morning. It was at 2pm, but I had a meeting with our apartment manager so I was going to take her late. Jeniel said to drop her off but I was a little nervous about leaving her, she is only 2 1/2, and my meeting was at 2pm. We saw Tarah outside and she asked me if I wanted her to take Kaycee with Kember. She had a meeting too and was going to drop Kember off and offered to take Kaycee. I was a little hesitant but said "sure". I worried the whole time, after all she gets hysterical when mom or dad aren't around, but I thought it was a good opportunity for her to go by herself, well, with a friend, without mom or dad. Tarah dropped them off and I picked them up.
The party went from 2-4pm. After the meeting was over I was going to go early and check on her. Then I decided to do a couple of errands to give her a little bit longer to enjoy the party. I knew the minute I showed up she would have to put on a huge production. And YES, she did. The minute I pulled up and walked over to get her and Kember the tears began to pour. Jeniel said that she did very well and didn't start crying until I walked up. Silly girl! Kaycee and Kember talked all about the party and the games they played all the way home. Kaycee was so excited that Tarah took her with Kember to the party in their car and mommy picked them up.
When we got home she went through each of the games they played, Red Rover, Ring-around-the-Rosie's, Red Light, Green Light...with each game explanation she had to show me what they did. It was too cute. She couldn't remember all of the words and would put her own words in with the tune. What a big girl!
I didn't have any pictures of her at the party but this is one of her leaving the house to go shopping for Morgan's birthday present.

Another Beautiful Day in Pullman
The kids tried feeding the ducks but I guess everyone else fed them because they didn't want to eat the bread. The fish went crazy though. The kids had a blast.
Amasay tried to teach Kaycee how to use and lasso a rope. Kaycee had more fun playing tug-a-war when Amasay roped her dad's ankle.
