When I was pregnant with Kaycee Isaac would sing Chris LeDoux songs and rub my feet. It was great. Especially after the longs days of working with customers and showing houses. Anyway, he still sings the same songs to Kaycee and she will crawl up next to him and just listen. It is sweet.
Well, these last couple of weeks she has started having separation anxiety. She feels the presence of the baby, which she asks for, and then switching days with a friend while we watched each others kid for school started affecting her. She has never been one for being babysat, and I really haven't had a babysitter watch her. This was a huge event in our life, to have her go to her friend’s house, without mom, for 6 hours a week. Anyway, so everything has been mom all over again. She asks for her dad but as long as she can see him that is good enough. She wants him in her presence but doesn't want him, if you know what I mean. Anyway, last night Isaac started singing to her and she cuddled up next to him. THEN she started singing along with him. She knew the words pretty good for her. As they sang Daily Bread by Chris LeDoux you could hear her words perfectly, the sweetest thing as she cuddled with her daddy, then her words became more slurred and heavy. The next thing we knew she was asleep. Isaac leaned over and gave her a kiss on the head and said, "I love you Kaycee." Very quietly and slow she said, "I love you daddy." It was the sweetest thing. She is such a precious little gift. I can just see her singing her baby brother to sleep. She already lays on my stomach and sings Twinkle Twinkle and the Wheels on the Bus to him. What a big girl! I can't believe how big she is getting. They really do grow up fast.
As I laid there listening and watching them sing together I started feeling anxiety. I can't imagine what it will be like as she gets older. My little niece will be 7 soon. It seems like she was just born. My little brother is going on a mission this summer. My baby sister is going to be 16 next winter. The time just flies. I finally felt how I am sure my mom is feeling at this time. Three of her kids are married and she is the grandma of almost 5. We are always told this life is short and we need to enjoy every minute. I remember when Kaycee was just born and had colic really bad. She would cry for hours and I had to sleep in a chair with her lying on my chest. Everyday I would wish the time away to when she would grow out of it. I think when we face these hard times we wish it away too much. Even when we are struggling we/I need to try and find that happy medium and just enjoy what we have and are going through. The learning experiences, the blessings, the growth. I think I take a lot of things for granted. I think that women are more emotional when they are pregnant so that they can reflect and better prepare themselves and their home for these situations.

It's Just Saturday!
Isaac had to go to Sunnyside all day today for school. Yeah for me! I am studying for a test for today, cleaning and doing laundry so Kaycee was a little bored to say the least. I wanted to get everything done this morning so we could go outside and play this afternoon but the weather is pretty yucky outside. She wanted to play with her bubble gun so I figured this would entertain her for a few minutes while I studied. I told her she needed to get shoes on and a coat. As you can see she dressed herself and had to take her bag outside with her. She has lovely bed-hair flying in the wind and YES, she is still in her pajamas. She didn't want to get dressed today and I didn't have time to fight with her. She just got her new pjs and loves to wear them.
When she finished off the bubbles she wanted to watch Little Bear on Noggin. He and his grandpa made a tent with sheets and slept outside. SO, I made her a tent so she could play along. She was so excited. I figured this way she was doing more than just watching television. She grabbed her teddy bear from her Great Aunt Jeannie, and we can't forget her baby doll, and went and played along. She is too cute!

Happy Leap Year!
Happy Birthday Grandma Bott.
Some facts about Leap Year!
"Leap Year" wasn't made to tease people, it is actually used to "fix" the error time misses in one year.
What is a leap year?
A leap year is a year in which one extra day has been inserted, or intercalated, at the end of February. A leap year consists of 366 days, whereas other years, called common years, have 365 days.
February 29, 2008
The year 2008 is a leap year. If you look at a 2008 calendar, you will see that February has five Fridays–the month begins and ends on a Friday. Between the years 1904 and 2096, leap years that share the same day of week for each date repeat only every 28 years. The most recent year in which February comprised five Fridays was in 1980, and the next occurrence will be in 2036. February 29, the leap day, has been associated with age-old traditions, superstitions and folklore.

Going Bongos!
So our friends Tarah and Dan got us, well me, hooked on Donkey Konga. It's a blast. I have been trying to find the game and bongos for a really good deal for awhile and I finally found some on ebay and won!! I've bid on many but finally won. I've been waiting for them in the mail for over a week because of the weekend and Presidents day so it has taken longer. Kaycee has caught on and everyday has to check the mail for her toys. Finally they came in the mail, but she was at Jena's house so I waited to open them until I picked her up. I knew that she would get a big kick out of finally getting "her toys" and she was.
We don't have a Gamecube, but hey, I have the bongos; thats all that counts.
