It happened. I've had this talk with Kaycee a hundred times dreading the day that she would be curious about cutting her own hair. First of all, it is my stupidity that caused the curiosity. I decided the other night to try the whole bangs thing again. I haven't had bangs for over 10 years, well, maybe a little less. So, thinking that all was good, I left the scissors in my makeup bag sitting on the bathroom sink. Every time I went in there I had a thought to put them higher. Then, I would get distracted and realize after I was busy with something else that I didn't put them away but thought it was all good because Kaycee knows better. I fixed her hair in a ponytail this morning and got busy on the computer before going outside to play. She comes in asking if her hair looked pretty. I thought she had just tried combing it with it in a ponytail and said, yep, did you try to comb it? THEN, I walked into the bathroom and there it was, HAIR, scissors, spray bottle, and a comb. I stayed calm, afterall there was just a little and I couldn't tell that she cut it. As I pulled her ponytail out to fix it gobs of hair came off in my hands. She had cut the top and it was still in the ponytail. She has 80s bangs, high on top of the head and short. The best part of it all, I call her little act "the Alexis" because we have family pictures next week. Her cousin did the same thing to her parents, I think at the same age. BUT, she was smart enough to have a friend cut it and she hacked it good. Thank goodness we will see my mom on Monday and she can try to fix the mess that Kaycee created. Oh joy. I guess she is going back to short hair. I would like to add that I handled this little episode very calmly. I was very proud of myself!
I'll have to get a picture of her hack job and post it as well.

Just Chillin'

I thought this was a cute shot of Kaycee and Bella eating pudding on the steps. I guess boys aren't allowed! Austin is just eating his pudding and could care less.

Back Home
We are back home in Pullman. We had a fun time with Uncle Nickel Pickle but sad that he is gone. Wow, two years is a long time. Kaycee is excited to write letters and send pictures and packages but sad that she can't play Tickle Monster with him for a very long time. We had wonderful experiences with Nick before he left. We were able to attend the temple several times, which Kaycee LOVED. Even though she had to wait in the waiting room with Aunt Sara and Amy. She had a blast just being there and getting pictures by the temple.
We made it back in time for Kember's birthday party. We had planned it before we left but with the drive back from Spokane we were a little worried. Kaycee was glad to play with Kember (her "best fwend") before she left for Utah.

Trip To Granpa's House
Great Grandpa and Grandma Callor got back from their trip so we ran to Helper to see them before Nick left for the MTC on Wednesday. Kaycee had a lot of fun. We all had a nice visit. Kaycee picked cherries with Grandpa. During her little exploration of his garden she stepped into a ditch and got wet. Grandpa got her a towel and asked her if she wanted to clean it or if she needed his help. This is the girl tthat has to do everything on her own. I was surprised to hear her say "you do it." It was cute.
It was fun to watch Grandpa reach for Kayden too. He doesn't hold babies let alone take one on his own. It wa cute.
