Visit From Grandma and Aunt Sara

Grandma and Aunt Sara flew in from Utah to hang out for a couple of days and drive to Utah with us. Isaac left on the 18th with Grandma Bott for Utah to interviews and we are meeting up in Utah. The kids had a fun week planned at BBCCC so we stuck around and extended my internship so they could participate in the fun.

Grandma Callor and Aunt Sara came into the center on Thursday and went and visited Kaycee's class. Her classroom was full of excitement with activities so they were helping me put Book Fair stuff away. WIthin a few mintues one of her teachers came looking for Grandma. Kaycee was in tears because Grandma left her. So for the last 15 mintues grandma hung out iwth Kaycee in the classroom. Sara was on crutches so she sat in the office and I finished up the day.

Zitti Meaty Bake

We had a Penne Pasta freezer meal from Safeway the other day that was so good. I am not sure how to make it but I had hamburger that needed to be cooked so we decided to experiment. We grated four types of cheese; Havarti, sharp cheddar, Parmesan and mozzarella. We cooked the hamburger, and boiled the Penne noodles. Seasoned the hamburger with Thyme, Basil, Oregano, Season Salt, Garlic Powder/Salt and Onion Powder. We just used ingredients around the house. We had some meatballs in the freezer so we threw them in as well. Oh, we also used garlic salt instead of regular salt when boiling the noodles, which made the noodles taste so good. Kaycee layered the dishes (we were resourceful and made a freezer meal for later) with noodles first then Havarti cheese, hamburger and sharp cheddar, sauce (sweet basil) and meatballs and Ragu Mushroom sauce and topped it off with mozzarella cheese. We baked it on 350 for about 30-45 minutes and added Parmesan/garlic bread.

Regular white and/or wheat bread, buttered with Parmesan cheese and garlic salt sprinkled on top. We love this bread, it is so easy and so yummy; thanks Katy!

We didn't get pictures of the final dish because we palyed outside while it baked and ran into some friends, Katy, Spencer and Cameron, who came over and helped us eat it. We were only going to go outsdie for a few minutes while it baked and ended up almost forgetting about it.

Fun with Grandma

Isaac's mom flew in from Utah to help out while Isaac was recovering. What a blessing she was there. Kaycee had fun playing and hanging out with Grandma Bott for a few days. It was great having her here. It was also nice to have her fly home with Isaac in his condition. Thanks a million Grandma Bott!
