Sleepy-Heads

Today we started learning how to write A's and B's and Kaycee's name, at least for her to recognize them written down. Kaycee did so well writing the letters. She remembers B because she says that it is 2 circles and a line. She has a unique way of thinking.

After our lesson she was tired and fell asleep in my arms and then Kayden fell asleep. They were too cute! Two wore out kids. She's had a busy day. We decorated for daddy's birthday, made brownies and took them to the hospital for him, went shopping and had school. She doesn't get wore out running all day but she gets exhausted learning. Hmmm! Is that a bad or good sign?

Kaycee's Update

I just want to take this time to thank everyone who helped me today and called to check on us. It was a terrifying ordeal to have to go through on my own. I couldn't have done it without all of you. Thank goodness I was able to get a hold of Isaac and he was able to make it home before they took her in the ambulance because I was able to calm down and get things in order at home before going as well. Thankfully Mashawn and Tarah were close by to care for Kayden. He was such a happy boy when we picked him up tonight.

Kaycee is doing better. She was such a trooper when they had to take all of the tests. After they drew her blood she said that she was a big girl and only cried a little and made a baby crying sound. She is such a theatrical girl. She really was brave. She held still even though it hurt, they had to dig around for the vein even. She was very brave when they did all of the other tests as well. We are so proud of her and thankful she is okay. We are watching her fever and her and will find out more test results in a few days.

Thankfully she had Patches to keep her company and to have next to her while the paramedics took her. In the hospital she said that she was happy and thankful for Domenic, Alexis, Skyler and Uncle Brandon and Aunt Katy for Patches. The nurse also gave her a little animal friend for Patches.







For those of you who are wondering. Kaycee hasn't felt well and started to get a fever last night. I've watched her and gave her Tylenol to keep it under control. This is normal with the weather change, she gets like this, I just watch her and give Tylenol and then by the next day, after a lot of sleep she is better.

My house has been a wreck since we got back from Utah. I try to clean it but Kaycee messes it up right behind me. With everything else going on and the baby it has been very difficult to clean. Since Kaycee wanted to lay on the couch to rest, I took Kayden to our bedroom to clean where it wouldn't be noisy for her and to get him down for a nap as well. I would check on Kaycee every once in awhile and finally once I started deep cleaning I brushed it aside to go check on her again because I think I worry too much. Finally I had this thought to change the laundry, so I did. I heard a noise but figured it was her snoring, because her nose was stuffy. I started the laundry and heard a strange raspy sound and looked over towards the couch and found Kaycee convulsing. She was having a seizure. It was the scariest thing that I have ever seen. I've seen them before but this was horrifying. I called for an ambulance and ran outside for help because I was dealing with her and Kayden was inside. They said that her fever may have spiked causing this to occur but they are doing other tests as well to make sure it is all it is. It was scary stuff but we have good friends who are always there to lend a helping hand. While I was on the phone with the 911 operator Chad and his brother-in-law were able to give her a blessing. Our neighbor Kaitlynn waited and directed the ambulance and Mashawn and Tarah traded off with Kayden. Thanks for all of the calls, it means a lot to have good and thoughtful friends like all of you.

Hair Cut

Kaycee's hair is getting so long and pretty, but in order for it to look nice, besides pig tails, I have to take a lot of time to fix it. Which I don't have. On Sunday I fixed it really nice but by the time she played and we got to church it looked messy. SO, I thought I would trim it, the shorter it is the faster it is to fix. I need to remember, cut from the bottom up, not top down. Oh, one more rule of thumb, either don't stress and hurry while a baby is screaming or ignore him. One side is perfect but the last side I was trimming and rushed I cut too short. I went to fix it but we had to run Isaac a new white coat and lunch, Kaycee fell asleep and then the rest of our day was lovely. (For those of you who know about today, you will understand that it was sarcastic. We didn't have a lovely day.)

I took pictures before and after. It is much faster to fix but it is so short. When I get bored with hair I better lock up the scissors because I go to town don't I?

Now I just need to work on those eyebrows!!!)

Lentil Festival Parade

So, we have lived here for almost four years, well, three, and this is our first year attending the parade. Isaac wasn't there; he had to care for patients, so we went with Tarah and the kids. I couldn't believe it, this was the longest parade I have ever been too. Kaycee had a blast. She loves parades. I think she just loves being outside and out of the house. Kayder had a lot of fun too. He is happy just to be out and about. I am posting a few of the highlights of the parade. The ones that Kayc seemed to enjoy the most, for the sake of space.

Out of all of the people that handed things out he was the only one that came to our little corner and gave to the kiddos. What a nice fella.
